My cousin recently sent me a photo taken from a hike in the mountains. I really liked the intense light from the sun and the cool blue colors that washed over the whole landscape. I primed a sketchbook page with yellow and blue acryla gouache.

I used a limited pallet of Ultramarine Blue, Sap Green, Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Flame Red and White gouache. My goal was to let some of the cool blues and intense warm yellow from the under painting show through in the final.
